Tracy Island: Home

Tracy Island is a husband & wife electric duo that plays sophisticated, low-fi, poppy, garage rock and draws comparisons as eclectic as Richard Thompson and The Bangles.

Since the year 2000, Liza & Ian's musical collaborations mixing New York City new wave, West Coast jangle-pop, and British folk rock have been heard at events curated by Freddy's Donald O'Finn and at clubs such as the Parkside Lounge, The Delancy, and Kenny's Castaways in Manhattan, Grape Street in Philadelphia, Mixed Company Theater in Great Barrington, MA, and the Platform Tavern in Southampton, England as well as on ISON syndicated radio programs throughout Australia, and heard on internet, satellite and college radio, and in indie film and television in several regions of the US and Europe.

Debut performances in the New York City-area during the summer of 2012 under new project name Tracy Island have featured the Deborah Harry-esque lead vocals, politically aware songwriting, and psychedelic melodic construction heard on three studio albums over seven years as Liza & the WonderWheels (2002-2010). Also recording their first album as Tracy Island - and playing all instruments - this new duo format has been acclaimed by fans for allowing intimate access to lyrical intricacies and moments of vocal and guitar virtuosity.

The creative heart of Tracy Island is an exploration of supermarionation as an analogy for a transformative process that allows you to become simultaneously both a more genuine and more iconic version of what you already are. Sail up and knock on the clubhouse door for art rock sounds that feel unique, accessible and true.
